One of Pakistan’s largest man-made forests: 11,531 acres of shisham and eucalyptus between the railway and the canal.
The plantation runs as a long strip beside the Lahore–Karachi railway between Kassowal and Dad Fatiana stations, with the Lower Bari Doab Canal on its northern side. About 500 acres are replanted every year. Before irrigation, this land carried native trees such as wan, frash and jand.
